JAIZ BREAKS EVEN IN 3 YEARS, DECLARES N157M PROFIT IN 2014

JAIZ BREAKS EVEN IN 3 YEARS, DECLARES N157M PROFIT IN 2014

From Left: Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga (Sarkin Fulanin Gome), Director; Mohammad Nurul Islam, Managing Director and Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Abdul Mutallab, Chairman, Board of Director, Jaiz Bank Plc at the Bank’s 3rd Annual General Meeting yesterday in Abuja.
The management of Jaiz Bank Nigeria said the bank has broken even within the first three years of its operations.
Managing Director of the bank, Mohammad Nurul Islam, described the feat as unprecedented in the non-interest banking industry going by the numerous challenges in the environment.
Speaking yesterday at the Annual General Meeting for 2014 in Abuja, Mr Islam said the bank declared a profit of N157 million as at the end of the 2014 business year.
He said the bank progressed financially and technologically in 2014 after it grew the earning assets despite the absence of Shariah-compliant liquidity management instrument in the money market.
“The growth in these assets eventually brought our bank to break-even point since September 2014 and we even closed the year with a modest Profit Before Tax (PBT) of N157.7 million,” the report said.
As at the close of 2014 business year, the bank said it had 15 branches more than the 10 branches it had in 2013 while the customer strength grew to 1076 from the previous 375 with a value of N22.2 billion.
In this year, Jaiz bank said it is positive that after smooth transition to the next government, and expected improvement in crude oil price, market conditions - consumer and corporate confidence will stabilise.
In his address, chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Umaru AbdulMutallab, affirmed the bank’s positive focus saying “We are cautiously positive about the outlook for the 2015 financial year despite the seeming challenges.”
He was optimistic that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulation will gear towards creating a level playing ground by providing adequate complaint instruments to support the operations of the specialised sub-sector of the banking industry.

NO ONE CAN HURT YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT

Abraham Lincoln on his first day in office as President of United States of America entered the hallowed chamber to give his Inaugural Address.
A Rich Aristocrat stood up and said: "Mr. Lincoln, you should not forget to tell us that your father used to make shoes for my family"....And the whole Senate laughed. They thought they had made a fool of Lincoln... But certain people are made of a totally different gene.
Lincoln looked at the man directly in the eyes and said: "Sir, I know that my father used to make shoes for your family, and there will be many others here too, because he made shoes the way nobody else can. He was a creator. His shoes were not just ordinary shoes because he poured his whole soul into them.
I want to ask you, have you any complaint? Because I know how to make shoes myself. If you have any complaint, I can make you another pair of shoes. But as far as I know, nobody has ever complained about my father's shoes. He was a genius, a great creator and I am proud of my father". The whole senate was dumbstruck. They could not understand what kind of man Abraham Lincoln was. He was proud because his father did his job so well that not even a single complaint had ever been heard.
Remember, no one can hurt us without our consent. It is not what happens to us that hurts us, it is our response that hurts us. There are people out there whose only job is to hurt others. Don't give them a reason to have so much work on their hands. I pray that after reading this piece LET no man on this earth ever intimidate u or whatsoever. Be proud of who you are and never ever be like someone else.

WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT EACH OTHER

A bus full of passengers was traveling while suddenly the weather changed and there was a huge downpour and lightening all around.
They could see that the lightening would appear to come towards the bus and then go elsewhere. After 2 or 3 horrible instances of being saved from lightening, the driver stopped the bus about fifty feet away from a tree and said -"We have somebody in the bus whose death is a certainty today." Because of that person everybody else will also get killed today.
Now listen carefully what I am saying, I want each person to come out of bus one by one and touch the tree trunk and come back. Whom so ever death is certain will get caught up by the lightening and will die & everybody else will be saved".
They had to force the 1st person to go and touch the tree and come back. He reluctantly got down from the bus and went and touched the tree. His heart leaped with joy when nothing happened and he was still alive. This continued for rest of the passengers who were all relieved when they touched the tree and nothing happened.
When the last passenger's turn came, everybody looked at him with accusing eyes. That passenger was very afraid and reluctant since he was the only one left. Everybody forced him to get down and go and touch the tree. With a 100% fear of death in mind, the last passenger walked to the tree and touched it.
There was a huge sound of thunder and the lightening came down and hit the bus - yes the lightening hit the bus, and killed each and every passenger inside the bus.
It was because of the presence of this last passenger that, earlier, the entire bus was safe and the lightening could not strike the bus!
LESSON from this..?
At times, we try to take credit for our present achievements, but this could also be because of a person right next to us.
Look around you - Probably someone is there around you, in the form of Your Parents, Your Spouse, Your Children, Your Siblings, Your friends, Your Colleagues, etc, who are saving you from harm..!
Think About it, You will surely find that Person..!!
